Rock and Rescue November 2012

Posted on November 18, 2012

Another great event to raise money for the dogs! Rock and Rescue sure knows how to put on a great fundraiser! Don’t miss out on the next one.

What a fantastic fundraiser! There was great food, lots of raffle prizes, a silent auction and of course lots of dogs. Thank you K9 Connection for all you do for the dogs and the kids. You are all amazing!

For those interested in coming to next year’s bash, be sure to sign up for their mailing list. And if you want to donate to the cause, you can do that at any time!

Turn up the volume and take a look at all the fun!

S.T.A.R.T {One Year Anniversary}

Posted on June 10, 2012

S.T.A.R.T. SHELTER TRANSPORT ANIMAL RESCUE TEAM (A 501c3 non-profit) was formed in May 2011 by Steve Spiro, Suzanna Urszuly, Rene Ruston and Adam Tarshsis.

They began raising money and transporting dogs from high kill shelters here in LA and sending them via van or plane to Oregon, Washington (WA) and Canada where they go to reputable no kill shelters or foster homes.

To date they have transported 1468 doomed death row dogs who are placed into loving homes.

Each transport costs between $2500-$3500 depending on the destination of the receiving group.

THE GOAL – to raise enough money to fund at least 8 transports a month.

They are also are teaming up with a pilot who can fly 30 dogs at a time and made the local news.

Happy one year anniversary guys! You are awesome.

If I was turning 8 or 9, 10 or 40… :) I would have loved a party like this one! SO. MUCH. FUN! Miss Birthday Girl and all her friends got to skate, make derby shirts (WITH offical derby names too) and get their faces painted. Even the parents had a blast. I’m so happy I got to photograph this rollin’ good time! If you want to give your kid a fantastic birthday party she (or he) will never forget…complete with real live derby girls…Contact Angel City!

Turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy a day at World On Wheels. And if after seeing this, YOU want to become a roller girl, contact Angel City Derby Girls for more information! (Password for full gallery is the birthday girl’s first name. All lower case)

I was so excited when Molly called to see if I was available to photograph this fantastic event. I’ve known her for years through Facebook and other rescue friends, but never met her in person. Turns out she even works for the same company my husband works for! Small world!

She is an amazing person and does so much for animals. I don’t think she ever sleeps! She and her team raised over $85,000 for the animals. You read that right. 85 THOUSAND DOLLARS. Holy mackerel!

Molly’s Mutts and Meows’ adoption events are at a West Hollywood Park several Saturdays a month from 12-3pm. The tents are on the Robertson Blvd. side, south of Santa Monica Blvd. There is a paid parking lot right across from their tents, metered street parking, and some free 2-hour parking in the park’s lot off of San Vicente. If you want to do more and become a volunteer, find out more here.

This is round 2 of my favorites. There was so much going on that day and so many great photo ops, that I just couldn’t edit them down. LOL I’ll post the full gallery on Facebook later this afternoon. Until then, turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy this beautiful day!

I felt like I was a kid again at the amazing birthday party! The dolls, the “tea party”, the laughter. All just so much fun. Turn up the volume, sit back and be taken to your childhood! Thank you Sujie and James for trusting me to photograph Chole’s 3rd birthday.

The full gallery link is at the end of the slide show. The password is big brother’s name. (all lower case!)

Enjoy!

Celebrating Grace

What a beautiful day. Gorgeous couple. Fantastic friends. Delicious food. Such love filled the room. And the backyard. And everyone’s heart. Corny, I know, but I call it like I see it. :)

I can’t wait to meet baby Grace. She is one lucky little girl to be born into such a family. Thank you so much for trusting me to photograph this very special day. :)

Don’t forget to adjust the volume on your computer. Enjoy! (OOPS! Looks like the link at the end of the slideshow isn’t working. Email me and I’ll send you the direct link!)

Eighty And Going Strong

I loved meeting this huge family. They are amazing. So much fun. So happy. So full of life. The gang gathered together to celebrate granddad’s 80th’s birthday. And DJ’s too. :) I’m still editing away, but had to post a few of my favorites. I think I just may have to post a second batch tomorrow. Be on the look out. Until then, enjoy!
